Parkswatchscotland – up and running again

It’s been a difficult month for parkswatchscotland.   I intended to have a bit of break when ski touring in the Dolomites (see here) but following that was responsible for looking after a child for two and a half week during which time our household all got Covid.  That left me knackered and blogging was the last thing I felt like doing.  A week ago I thought I was all set to go again only to find parkswatchscotland had disappeared from the web.

Having dismissed the possibility of a cyber attack from the Russians or the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority, I discovered my web host had transferred servers without informing me. Something that I was then told would take first 24 hours, then 72 hours and then another 48 hours to sort out, eventually took six days as a result of a number of blunders by my internet service provider.  I dread to think what might happen if I now tried to exercise consumer choice and move service provider.

Anyway my apologies to regular readers and to all the people who have sent me information in the last few weeks about  matters of concern in our National Parks and the continued attempts of public authorities in Scotland to undermine access rights.  I hope to catch up and do justice to some of that over the next couple of weeks. Meantime I am off to the Cairngorms for a weekend of running -or trying to run post-Covid –  over and through the hills.

  1. Nick you do an incredible job which must involve a huge amount of work. The essential thing for it to continue is for you to to be fit and healthy. Please take care and look after yourself and those you love.

  2. I wondered where you’d gone! I was thinking the worst and hoping for the best – good to see you back and hope you don’t have any long lasting COVID symptoms.

  3. Hi, Nick. So sorry to hear that you and yours have been ill. I had feared you were abandoning Parkswatchscotland. I should have known better!! Your recall and research skills are amazing. Your tenacity in tackling the issues relating to our National Parks is so much needed. Keep up the good work. Keep safe and well.
