I am starting the Pyrenean High Level Route today, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and then hope to go on to the Alps so I won’t be blogging about Scotland’s National Parks for six weeks or so. I may send some postcards from abroad, as there are always things to learn from elsewhere, but so far this morning there are no signs of the fires that have been devastating the Gironde. Until now I had never thought that I might be walking along a giant natural firebreak – or so I hope – between Spain and France.
I’d like to thank again all those people who feed information to parkswatch and my apologies that a host of things I had hoped to write about will now have to wait until the Autumn. I have scheduled one post for tomorrow but that’s it. Enjoy the break!
Wow – a well earned break – your informed output is phenomenal – enjoy your traverse of the Pyrenees
I’ve done parts of the haute route and it’s stunning. I doubt much will change for the better in our national parks while you’re away and I say that with regret. Stay safe and have a great time.
